Dear Elementary Parents,
I hope this message finds you well. I want to remind you that our Elementary Open House will be held tonight from 5:00–6:00 PM. This is a great opportunity for you and your child to meet their teacher and bring any school supplies you may have. There will also be some paperwork for you to complete at this time. Please remember that turning in your child’s paperwork promptly is essential—especially for our incoming kindergarteners!
As you may know, we will be using two new modular classrooms this year for 5th and 6th grade. Unfortunately, due to a delay at the factory, they will not be ready to visit during our Open House. When you come tonight, please avoid the area as there will be workers present. I still encourage the 5th and 6th graders to attend, pick up their beginning-of-year paperwork, bring any supplies, and place them in their locker. Their teachers will be set up in the commons area.
Following the Open House, our FBLA will host a school carnival outside and serve hot dogs—we’d love to see you there! Due to construction, the carnival will be held in front of the high school this year. We will be blocking off the circle drive and Sycamore St to the east of the school.
A few important reminders as we prepare for the new school year:
Birthday Celebrations: Any treat brought to school must be prepackaged. Homemade treats are not allowed.
Cellphones and Smartwatches: Students may not use cellphones or smartwatches with internet access during school hours. If a student brings one, it must remain in their locker or be given to their teacher until the end of the day.
Important Dates:
-First Day of School: Thursday, August 14 – 9:30 AM start
-Friday, August 15: 9:30 AM start
(Students should not arrive before 9:15 AM on these two days.)
-Regular schedule begins next week with an 8:00 AM start.
Students eating breakfast may arrive at 7:30 AM.
All other students should arrive no earlier than 7:45 AM.
We are excited to kick off the new school year and look forward to seeing you tonight!
