The National Honor Society will be having its Annual Food Drive next week. Please see the details below. When: The Food Drive will run from December 9th-13th. Where do you take items? The NHS students will collect items outside the Elementary and HS offices each day. Goal: 1,400 food items. This year, $.50 will equal one food item if one chooses to donate money instead of food. Please see Mr. Moore if you plan to donate money instead of food. Possible Change of Dismissal Day: If we meet our goal, we WILL NOT have school on January 3rd with students. January 3rd will be a teacher in-service and students will start on January 6th.

The Intro to FCS class has been busy spreading kindness throughout the community this week! They've helped Mrs. Olson at the public library, read to Kindergarten and 1st graders, created obstacle courses for the elementary and visited residents at the Pines.

After an engaging in several science lessons on solids, liquids, and gases, the students celebrated their hard work by making and enjoying homemade ice cream. As they shook the ingredients in bags of ice and salt, they observed the science in action—watching the liquid transform into a delicious frozen treat. The hands-on activity reinforced their understanding of phase changes while rewarding their efforts with a sweet and satisfying dessert. Learning had never tasted so good!

The 6th-grade class had an exciting semester harvesting fresh, crisp lettuce from their tower garden. After weeks of nurturing the plants, the students picked the vibrant greens and prepared them for all to enjoy. Their hard work paid off as the lettuce was delivered to the school cafeteria, where it was incorporated into healthy lunches for the students to enjoy.

It's that time of year!! We have dusted off the speed stacks and have begun our unit in elementary. Students will be participating in helping set the World Record of "most people stacking in multiple locations on the same day" (Nov 13/14). Students also have the opportunity to purchase their own sets. Flyers have been sent home with each grade level. Contact Mrs. Wright for more information!
