Our 8th graders got to do a little hands-on learning this week with squid dissections!
We’ve been learning about adaptations and how different body structures help organisms survive, so what better way to learn than to actually take a look inside a squid?
Students got to identify different structures and talk about what each one does and how it helps the squid survive in its environment. We definitely had some interesting reactions along the way! 😂
It was messy, hands-on, and probably not everyone’s favorite smell, but the students did a great job and asked some really good questions. It’s always fun when we can take what we’ve been learning and actually see it in front of us!
Science is definitely better when you can get your hands on it!
