Student Safety is our First Priority

Please know that the circle drive in front of the school is not designed to handle the number of vehicles that come to school at the beginning and end of each school day. Your patience, understanding, and support of the drop-off/pick-up procedures are appreciated.  The staff knows that your time is precious, but the safety of every student is their first priority.

Student Drop Off in the Mornings:

  • Students can be dropped off beginning at 7:30 a.m. for breakfast or at 7:45 a.m. if they are going directly to their classrooms.

  • Parents enter the circle drive in front of the school and pull as far forward along the curb as possible before stopping their vehicle. There should be very little room between your car and the car in front of you.

  • Say your goodbyes before your turn to unload – this will help keep cars moving in line.

  • Please follow the directions of staff members on duty.

  • Students are to exit their vehicle only on the passenger side, and they must be able to get themselves out of the car without any help from their parents.

  • Parents are to remain inside their cars – do not leave the car unattended.

  • Do not pull into parking spots along the middle island to drop off/pick up your child. Children are not to walk across the circle drive.

  • After your child exits the car, parents are to angle their car to the left and drive into the Pass-Through lane and make room for the cars behind them to access the unloading area along the curb.

  • Parents should not make a U-Turn out of the circle drive, but rather turn left onto W. Prospect Street.

  • School begins at 8:00 a.m.

Student Pick Up in the Afternoons:

  • Elementary pick-up begins at 3:25 p.m. (M-TH) and 2:25 p.m. (F).

  • JH/HS pick-up begins at 3:35 p.m. (M-TH) and 2:38 p.m. (F).

  • If you have an elementary student and a JH/HS student, please pick up the elementary student and drive around the block, and re-enter the circle drive at 3:35 for JH/HS Pick-Up.

  • Pull as far forward along the curb as possible in the circle drive before stopping your vehicle.  There should be very little room between your car and the car in front of you.

  • Parents are to remain in their vehicles - do not leave vehicles unattended.

  • Please pull forward as cars in front of you exit the drive.

  • Do not pull into parking spots along the middle island to drop off/pick up your child. Children are not to walk across the circle drive. Children are to always walk on the sidewalks and crosswalks.

  • If you park on the street and walk to school to pick up your child, please wait for your child outside in front of the commons' area.

  • Car line students will wait in front of the commons' area for their parent’s car.  Students are to walk to their car as soon as they see it pull up along the loading area curb &/or when their name is called by a staff member.

  • Backpacks must go inside the passenger area of the car, not in the trunk.  If you need to use your trunk space, then you will be directed to a designated loading area away from the car line.

  • Students are to enter their vehicle only on the passenger side, and they must be able to get themselves into the car without any help from their parents.

  • After your child enters the car, parents are to angle their car to the left and drive into the Pass-Through lane and make room for the cars behind them to access the unloading area along the curb.

  • Parents should not make a U-Turn out of the circle drive, but rather turn left onto W. Prospect Street.
