Blue Hill Schools

Dear Parents,

Kindergarten is an exciting time for your child!  It’s the beginning of a journey of learning, friendship, fun and students reaching their full potential.  We are excited to offer to you a Kindergarten Round-Up, to be held Friday, February 22 at 9:30 A.M. in the elementary gymnasium.

Children who will be five years of age on or before July 31, 2019, are eligible to attend kindergarten (per Nebraska State law).  Children who turn five on or after August 1, 2019, and on or before October 15, 2019, may be considered for early entrance to kindergarten if a written request from a parent is submitted to the superintendent by March 1, 2019.

When you attend the Kindergarten Round-Up you can register your child for the next school year.  You will need to bring your child’s birth certificate, social security number and immunization record.

Beginning school is an important event in the life of a child.  A good beginning helps stimulate a child’s growth and development and contributes to their future success in school.  It is important that they are ready to attend kindergarten when that time comes.

Kindergarten Round-Up will be a time for you and your child to meet our kindergarten teachers. They will do activities in the kindergarten room while parents separately receive information and have the opportunity to ask questions about school and expectations.  This will also be a good time for the teachers to assess your child’s kindergarten readiness.

We ask that younger siblings do not attend the Round-Up as this is a special day for the new kindergarten student.  Activities for the morning will conclude with lunch for the children and the parents in the school cafeteria beginning at 10:40 A.M.

So that we can better plan for the day, please let us know if you will be attending Kindergarten Round-Up or not. Please follow this link to register -  https://goo.gl/TWvCE4, or send an email to loritoepfer@bluehillschools.org or call the elementary office at 756-2085.

Educationally Yours,
