Letterhead

Dear Parents and Families,

The first day of school – Monday, August 13, 2018. This newsletter will have all the information that you need as a parent to be ready for a new school year.  Be sure that you have downloaded the school app and keep watch for the dates and times of mandatory parents’ informational meetings and open houses in August.

If you have been a part of the bus routes in the past you will be contacted closer to the start of school about your route driver and pickup times.  If you have a kindergartener, preschooler or a new K-12 student that will be starting this fall and you want them to ride the bus, then please call Holiday Express Busing 1-800-652-1950.

Over the last couple of years, school safety has been a priority for our school.  This summer air conditioning is being installed in the elementary gym. The gym gets very warm in the Fall and late Spring and many time the door has to be propped open for relives from the heat.  By installing HVAC the doors will not be propped open and the building can be much more secure during the school and for after-school practices. However, there is a chance that the project will not be 100% complete by the first day of school.

Finally, before the start of school, I also want to welcome our new staff members to Blue Hill Community Schools! Blue Hill Community Schools this year will operate our own preschool.  As a result, we would like to welcome the Preschool Staff of Paula Southworth and Taylor Peterson teachers, Christine Kemp speech therapy, and Steph Bonifas and Dawn Mohlman paraeducators. The new Teachers for grades kindergarten to 12 are Miranda Aschoff Language Arts, Libby Bokelman Language Arts, Julie Fessenden K-6 Resource, Cailyn Grabill 1st Grade,  Cheyenne Kreutz Kindergarten, Jessica Lovejoy Paraeducator, Elizabeth Menke Language Arts, Jessica Moore Title 1, Kirk Ramsey Elementary Guidance, and Jaylin Randall 4th Grade.

I hope everyone is getting excited about the start of the new school and the first day of school.

I will see you then!

Joél Ruybalid, Superintendent
